"The Harnham Express" taught the Idlers the meaning of true speed. The raw pace was not only surprising, (as he casually told the Skip on his first game that he was a sometime opener) it was frightening.Very frightening. Despite unluckily suffering from a lack of wickets in the few games he played whilst on leave, he bowled quickly and usually accurately scaring the crap out of batsmen and Idlers keepers alike.Unfortunately for Jim if the ball missed both stumps and batsman it usually missed keeper and fine leg as well causing inevitable extras. How he quite managed to take so few wickets escapes everyone, with batsmens luck probably being the only explanation. If Jim played regularly and opened with Nick, the bowling attack would be unstoppable.
