In true Masonic spirit Nick was recommended through an existing member, and aftera rigourous selection process he started in probably Idlers strongest ever lineup against E Tytherley away.Through Nick's elegant top order batting style, a style which most Idlers fail to understand, he is definitely a contender for opener if he starts playing regularly next year. In his one game he was thrown into the much sought after no.6 spot against the Tytherley slow bowlers. After some unnecessary defensive play Nick joined the fun, dismissed everything he had learnt at school and started hammering the ball around the pitch, scoring a classy 32*. He also looked sharp in the field, stopping the ball with the kind of school learnt fielding stylishness which most Idlers have long since forgotten. With Nick playing every week let's hope we will be able to field the kind of sturdy team which trounced Tytherley.
