Andover II (H) - 25 June 2011
Won by 6 Wickets

Andover 138ao 4pts lost to Idlers 142/4 22pts by 6 wickets

A match winning spell of 8-19 by Steve Haugh ensured Idlers comfortably beat Andover IIís by 6 wickets. His effort was all the more remarkable as Andoverís openers steadily amassed 95 before Haughís late introduction into the attack in the 27th over. Bowling with rhythm and getting some real zip of the pitch the Idlerís newcomer ripped through the heart of the Andover batting to record the best figures in the clubs history. S Ott (67) and R Hadfield (31) built a solid foundation but their scoring rate remained slow and once Haugh had bowled them both a steadily revolving stream of batsman had no answer to his devastating burst. At one stage he had the top 6 wickets before Clements 2-19 struck twice in one over as Andover went from 95-0 to 138 all out.

The Leckford pitch and the overcast conditions offered assistance to the seam bowlers all afternoon and small total still posed a challenge. Chasing only their second win of the season Idlers lost an early wicket before Ince (44) and Sheppard (54) added 69 for the 2nd wicket to steady the ship. Sheppard looked solid right from the start and punished the bad ball before surprisingly missing a looping fall toss and falling lbw. It was left to Gilbey (29*) to finish the match in style as Andoverís 138 was knocked off with more than 10 overs to spare. The Idlerís are now up to 11th in the table and next face Langley Manor away.
